The Brazilian government has cut import tariffs on carbon steel and palm kernel oil

On 29 April 2009, the Brazilian Commission for Foreign Trade decided to reduce the import tariff on palm kernel oil (MERcosur Tariff Code 1513.29.10) to 2% with a quota of 150,000 tons valid for 12 months. At the same time will carbon steel (South Market tariff no. 7208.51.00) import tariff from 12% to 2%, quota of 30,000 tons, valid for 12 months. It is reported that carbon steel plate has corrosion resistance to acid substances, mainly used in petroleum and natural gas pipeline projects.
